Brazil and Sweden played out a 1-1 draw in Detroit, with both sides already assured of progression. Andersson gave Sweden the lead, but Romário equalised just after the break. The match was played in the stifling conditions of the Silverdome.
Trivia
This was the first time Brazil failed to win a group match at USA ’94, but they would meet Sweden again in the semi-finals. The indoor heat was a major talking point for players and media alike.
