Italy edged Belgium in Munich to reach the Euro 2020 semi-finals. Barella’s angled strike rewarded early dominance before Insigne doubled the lead with a trademark curler. Lukaku’s penalty on half-time revived Belgian hopes but Mancini’s disciplined side contained late pressure to preserve a deserved victory and extend their unbeaten run.
Trivia
With his curling finish, Insigne became the first Italian to score in consecutive European Championship matches since Antonio Cassano in 2004. Italy’s win extended their national record to 32 games unbeaten, while Chiellini earned a 112th cap, drawing level with Dino Zoff on the Azzurri all-time list.
