Match overview

Denmark overpowered Wales to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2004. Dolberg’s poacher’s double either side of half-time tilted the contest decisively before Maehle’s solo effort and Braithwaite’s stoppage-time finish underlined Danish supremacy. A late red card capped a frustrating evening for Rob Page’s side.

Trivia

Kasper Dolberg became the first Danish player to score twice in a Euro knock-out match, achieving the feat in the city where he starred for Ajax. Denmark also became the first team in tournament history to score four or more goals in back-to-back Euro fixtures.
